Happy St. Valentines Day : Well, St. V-day this year began as a normal morning morning would, which generally is a great thing, but things kind of took a twist early on in the day.

The 'twist' i was talking about started, I think... Friday. The 10th. Seeing as my parents 32nd wedding anniversary was on the 15th this month, my dad and I decided to close up shop for that day. We're doing pretty good down at the shop so the day off wouldn't hurt business and it would do us some good too. That evening, I went home and ... I remember telling Shayna that my parents would be going to Cripple Creek this year for their anniversary, and we're closing shop for the day. Also, since Tuesday was Valentines Day, we would be getting off early. That being said, i'll get on with the twist...

Monday evening, Shayna suggests to me that she wake up when I do and cook us both some bacon and eggs for breakfast on St. V-day. Needless to say I was all for that idea, haha. I mean, it's not every day that something like that happens. Usually, I just get up and either don't eat or grab a quick bowl of cereal and coffee before work.

So Tuesday morning rolls around and i'm up at about 7:50. I don't have to work until 9 so i've got some time. I make a fresh pot of coffee and grab a cup, watch a little bit of TV, finished my coffee, then got ready for work. By now, Shayna is up, just in bed still, so I go and watch a bit more tv until about 8:35 or so. I was thinking about bacon & eggs for almost an hour now and was hungry, and since Shayna wasn't up - which I didn't mind - I figured i would just eat a bowl of cereal and get to work. Shayna heard that I was pouring a bowl of cereal, so she got up and asked if I still wanted her to make breakfast for us. I figured since I already had poured a bowl of cereal and put the milk in, that I should just eat that so I told her no, it's ok.. but thank you babe.. and smiled! Because i'm that nice of a guy lol.

So I ate my bowl of cereal and Shayna started doing the few dishes that were in the sink. Here comes the fun stuff.. I told her around 8:50 that I had to go to work and I would see her in the evening when I got off. She wouldn't kiss me goodbye and growled "GOODBYE!"

Great. I had done pissed off my girlfriend... on Valentines day... before 9a.m. I don't know about most people, but I would consider that a .. not so good sign. So, me being me, I asked her, out of sheer curiosity, "You're mad. What's wrong?" I mean, the night before we had a good night, had some fun and laughed, went to bed in a great mood, woke up feeling good and then in the morning, a sudden rush of anger? I just simply did not understand.

She answered that she was a little mad because she wanted to cook breakfast for us. She heard me pour the bowl of cereal and was then mad at me for it. It was around 8:40ish when I ate the cereal, leaving me with 20 minutes to get to work. I just simply didn't have the time to wait at that point and I was hungry I explained. Then told her that I had to go and she didnt' say anything, so I left. Great, thats a perfect way to begin Valentines day I thought to myself. A bit later while I was at work, she sent me a text message on my cell phone saying "I was trying to calm down and say sorry and u leave! Thank u, I'M SORRY I didnt mean to do that to u but u didnt give me a chance to say sorry". I told her she had every right to be mad but she didn't think so because I was so mad. I wasn't mad.

Upset, maybe a little. Mad? No. I didn't respond to that text message and figured I needed to do something about this because with her being upset, I'm upset. So, instead of having flowers delivered at lunch time when we were going to meet up and eat together, I hand delivered her flowers myself at around 10:00 a.m, I even knocked on the door and everything heh.

That seemed to do the trick, she felt better and so did I. That night, we ended up waiting at the bar in Chili's for about 45 mins to get seated. We kept ourselves busy by talking with each other and before we knew it, the time had passed pretty quickly. I would write more about this but i'm tired so i'm going to just quit typing for now and say this was hands down, the best valentines day i've had. It turned out to be a lot of great fun in the end.
